SECRET ART 2022

Supporting Khrystyna and Dina

In the past months, women artists from all over the world have joined the "Secret Art" campaign.  To help us raise funds to support Ukrainian refugee artists in the UK, they have created wonderful artworks of the size of an A5.

We have received 60 artworks and through an online auction, we have raised £3,008.

This amount of money is enough to support the career of Khrystyna Khmil, a contemporary visual artist, and also of Dina Haivaniuk, a Ukrainian refugee musician arrived in Cambridge few weeks ago. We can now purchase an accordion, so that she can give music lessons and start performing again. Khrystyna will join an art residency programme that we managed to secure thanks to our partners from The Muse Gallery in Portobello, London. The residency will start in January and will include a final show in June 2023.  We will monitor and support her career and keep contributing covering the cost for materials she may need.

To all participating artists, to our donors and our partners,  we want you to know that your generosity is very much appreciated.

As they say, it just takes one person to change a life! THANK YOU

Dina Haivaniuk

Biography

Dina has 15 years of experience teaching music theory, piano and piano accordion.

She has worked with adults and children as an accompanist, organising and participating in concerts and festivals.

She has also organised children's concerts music holidays.

Through teaching it has become so clear to her that music touches the human soul and removes barriers to communication, especially for people with disabilities.

It raises children’s spirits and helps them better assimilate knowledge in other subjects.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

In February 2022 I was  awarded Teacher of the Year  in the Odesa region by the  Ministry of Education and  Science of Ukraine.
